DrayTEK Vigor2100VG VoIP Wireless Router

Excellent router. I've been using it with Virgin/NTL for the past year or two with VOIP via VOIPTalk.Org and it's been a rock solid performer. I'd say 9 out of 10 VOIP calls don't have problems which is pretty good going really.

The reason I'm writing is that I finally discovered how to configure the router so that calls go out over normal telephone line (PSTN) by default and only go out over internet (VOIP) if you precede the number with **. This is the exact opposite to how it works out of the box and it makes more sense if you're with Virgin and are getting free evening and weekend calls.

I've only managed to get this working using the latest firmware (v2.6.1). You have to enter two Digit Map entries. The first is prefix number **, mode replace, leave op number blank, min length 0, max length 99, interface VOIP1. The second is leave prefix number blank, mode none, leave op number blank, min length 0, max length 99, interface PSTN. I'm sure you could add more entries to always route mobile numbers over VOIP etc but I'll leave that up to you to play with!

That was really the only gripe I had with the unit but now that's sorted I'm well happy.
