The
Mediatrix® 2402 BRI IP router combines VoIP and call switching with QoS access
routing and VPN tunneling to provide a comprehensive and complete enterprise
solution. The Mediatrix 2402 unit is an integrated IP router with two Ethernet
ports and two ISDN basic rate interface ports. This constitutes an ideal solution
for office networks or for connecting to a service provider’s broadband access
over DSL, WLL or cable.
The Mediatrix 2402 BRI IP router combines real-time QoS IP routing and VPN
services with ISDN telephony over IP.With NAT, DHCP, PPPoE, and ACL/Firewall,
the Mediatrix 2402 router connects a LAN to a WAN over any Ethernet broadband
access. Supporting four simultaneous calls from the IP network or the PSTN,
the Mediatrix 2402 router allows any office to use an existing IP network for
lower-cost voice communications.
The Mediatrix 2402 router brings superior voice quality and network security
by combining advanced prioritisation and traffic management with IPSec VPN and
VoIP features. ISDN and QSIG tunneling enable full-featured PBX networking over
IP. T.38 FoIP, fax bypass, and modem bypass capabilities ensure that the Mediatrix
2402 router seamlessly transports all voice and data services. With SIP, H.323
and multiple codec support, the Mediatrix 2402 router offers flexibility and
scalability for VoIP network integration and low bandwidth voice. The configurable
NT/TE BRI ports, call-switching and user programmable call routing based on
various criteria including caller/called ID, allow the Mediatrix 2402 router
to integrate smoothly into existing PBX and PSTN networks.
Applications
In enterprise networks, the Mediatrix 2402 router integrates ISDN telephony,
advanced network features and security for best use of bandwidth, improved
office-to-office communication, and reduced network costs. Instead of
installing a separate PBX in a remote office, the Mediatrix 2402 router
is able to provide transparent ISDN port extensions over an IP network.
It also connects a LAN to the existing broadband connection and provides
the QoS and security necessary for voice, fax and data transmissions.
The Mediatrix 2402 router also supports transparent ISDN & QSIG tunneling.
PBXs can be networked using IP while still retaining complete functionality
to private voice networking. Designed specifically for enterprise applications,
the Mediatrix 2402 router makes use of existing IP networks to connect
any standards-based ISDN PBX or terminal.
